Examination Progression Scheme



Students enrolled under Coaching/Distance Learning program [DLP] can take exams for up to six courses without skipping the lower level in a sequential order, provided they have enrolled at least one month prior to the submission of examination forms and completed all other examination eligibility requirements, as per following Level-wise examination progression scheme:

Operational Level-1 & 2:
  • Any student who has joined CMA certification on the basis of 12-Year academic education or an existing student may appear in the examination of maximum six papers up to Operational Level -2 without skipping the lower level/ in a sequential order
  • In case a student who has obtained waivers in some of the courses of Operational Level-1 & 2 on the basis of previous qualification may appear in remaining courses up to Operational Level 2 without skipping the lower level/ in a sequential order.
Managerial level-1:
  • Any student who has joined CMA certification from Managerial Level-1 on the basis of 14-year or 16-year [non-commerce/business studies] education may appear in the examination of maximum six papers up to Managerial Level -2 without skipping the lower level/ in a sequential order.
  • Any student who has passed or obtained waivers in all/ some courses of Operational Level-1 or 2, may appear in six courses up to Managerial Level-1 without skipping the lower level/ in a sequential order.

Managerial level-2:
  • Any student who has joined CMA certification from Managerial Level 2 on the basis of 16-year [commerce/ business studies] education may appear in maximum of six papers up to Strategic Level-1 examination, without skipping the lower level/ in a sequential order.
  • Any student who has passed/ obtained waivers in all courses of Operational Level 1 and all/ some courses of Operational Level 2 or Managerial Level 1, may appear in six courses up to Managerial Level-2 without skipping the lower level/ in a sequential order
Strategic Level-1:
  • Any student who has passed/ obtained waiver in all courses of Operational Level -1 & 2 and all/ some courses of Managerial Level 1 or 2, may appear in six courses up to Strategic Level-1 without skipping the lower level/ in a sequential order.

Strategic Level-2:
  • Any student who has passed/ obtained waiver in all courses up to Managerial Level-1 and passed or obtained waivers in all/ some courses of Managerial Level 2 or Strategic Level 1, may appear in six courses up to Strategic Level-2 without skipping the lower level/ in a sequential order.

Practical Corporate Training Modules:
  • Any student who has passed all courses up to managerial level-1 and appeared managerial level-2 may appear in practical training module-1.
  • Any student who has passed all courses up to strategic level-1 and appear in all papers strategic level-2 may appear in practical training module-2.

Moreover, besides the revised scheme the Examination Committee may also consider the request(s) on case-to-case basis which is/ are not covered under the above parameters, provided there shall be no clash of examination papers for a candidate in the same examination session.
